Venice airport:
For plane travel, the simplest way is to compare prices. The new low-cost airlines are quite feasible for a destination as close as Venice. One airline, Vueling, for example, flies to Venice from Paris (Roissy), with one round trip per day. We'd suggest you also check out these websites: Opodo, Kelkoo and Expedia.
Once you get to Marco Polo airport, our tip is to treat yourself to a boat trip to the San Marco pier. The trip across the lagoon, with the reflections on the water changing with the time of day, and the rows of markers (strange wooden stakes arranged in threes and topped by a headpiece) is nothing short of enchanting. So forget the coach or the taxi and take the bucentaure!
